Amritsar which means the Pool of Nectar. The name is derived from the sacred pool around the Golden Temple. The city was founded in the year or 1577. It is the Sikh’s biggest spiritual and cultural centre. The main attraction of the city is the Sikh pilgrimage “The Golden Temple” also known as Harmandir Sahib.
