The Cavalcata Sarda is an ancient cultural and folkloric manifestation that takes place in Sassari (Northern Sardinia), usually on the penultimate Sunday of May. It consists of a parade on foot, on horseback or on traccas (the characteristic floats decorated with flowers and objects of everyday life), with groups from every part of Sardinia attending. Participants wear costumes typical of their place of origin, often enhanced by hand-made embroidery and jewels in filigree.
