LET'S MAKE A BOOK TOGETHER
With several months still ahead of us until we are likely to get a vaccination against Covid-19 and to be able to safely travel again, I am developing a new initiative—to help you to create your very own book.
There are dozens of sites on the internet where you can upload your pictures and text and create a book of your photographs. The question is, how much do you really know about layout, typography, and overall design; the flow of the narrative and the pictures; the subtleties of the typography; line length; leading; kerning—all the little details which help to make a beautiful product?
Sure, you can select one of many different templates and try to "fit" your ideas into that template, but what if there is no template which works for you?
What would you say if I told you that I could help you with all of this? Going back to my roots as a graphic designer and typographer, I can help you customize a design that fits your vision, and within a relatively short span of time, produce a product that you will be proud of.
So often I have heard people say that they do not have the time to devote to writing or selecting images. Now is your chance. As we remain under varying stages of lockdown, you have the time; if you want to go there! And, I am here to help you.
What I am proposing is that you book me for a week to start with. We will discuss your project, look at images on Zoom, and come up with an overall plan to take your book project forward. All I require is your full commitment to follow the project through to its conclusion.
The End Result
For a fee I will design your book (up to 200 pages in length) and take it to a press-ready stage and, at the end of the process, provide you with a hardcopy proof of the production. From that point onward you can decide how many books you would like to print.
