I Want to Ride My Bicycle…
When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.
I suppose that one of the good things that has emerged from our 3-month (and counting) Covid-19 quarantine is that many people have taken to their bikes to get their daily exercise, so many that it is virtually impossible to find a new bike under the $500 price tag anywhere.
I have been taking daily rides on my old beater around my neighborhood (I have only missed 1 day in 3 months due to bad weather) circumnavigating the route 20 times (or for a full hour) which amounts to about 14 miles in distance. Some days, when I am feeling a little stronger, I'll get 21-22 laps into the hour. I feel good for it.
Today someone in the neighborhood asked me what I was training for. Caught off guard I replied, "for turning 60."

My favorite is the BW image on the stone surfaced bridge in Slovenia.
