a wildlife & scenic photo tour with jeremy woodhouse in cajun country
Sunday, March 7, 2010 – Saturday, March 13, 2010

Join us at the world famous plantation home of Oak Alley for our week-long Plantations, Birds & Bayou tour. We will stay in their well-appointed chalets, and we will have the opportunity to photograph on the grounds outside visiting hours. The azaleas and magnolias should be in bloom. As well as exploring several other plantations in the vicinity of Oak Alley, including, Evergreen, Laura, San Francisco, Houmas House for which we will have special access, we will make the short trip to photograph in the famous French Quarter in New Orleans and experience the local cuisine.

Our local Cajun swamp guide, Charlie Martin, an accomplished nature photographer, who grew up not far from here (and who cooks the best doughnuts in the south), will be guiding us in the bayou where we will be able to photograph beautiful scenics at both dawn and dusk depending on the conditions. We will also photograph resident birds from special blinds set up in the swamp.

During the middle of the day we will give Photoshop instruction and photo critiques. You will learn how to make hdr (high dynamic range) images using Photomatix Pro and how to make great black & white images from your RAW files.

The cost of trip based on two people, or couples sharing is $1,295 pp. Breakfasts are included. There are 9 places still available so reserve yours now!

The cost of the photo tour with single accommodation is $1,750 pp
