a few more from lake kussharo

Yesterday we had near white-out conditions. We took a slow drive down the coast and found a swan hangout where we were able to get some different images. I was particularly excited about photographing sleeping swans with snow drifting around them.

My nose has started to heal after having stuck to the camera in the extreme cold – I have a nice scab forming and it looks delightful.

We have about another hour before they will let us know whether we can go out on the boats to look for Steller’s eagles on the drifting ice – if there is any in the channel. Meanwhile, here are a few more images from the previous days’ shooting.
